Question by number1mum: Is it true that sometimes an ultrasound can show the babies sex at around 12 weeks?

Ive seen on a few forums and message boards some woman have found out this early! Is it common?
Where I live 12 week scans are common. Almost everyone I know has had one

No, it's not possible. The reproductivbe organs don't develop until 17-18 weeks.
